What It Does
Plot Thread Tracker analyzes your series to identify every subplot, story arc, and narrative thread—then categorizes them by status: open, resolved, abandoned, or ongoing.
As series grow complex, it's easy to accidentally drop storylines or forget to resolve mysteries. This tool keeps a running inventory of all your narrative threads and alerts you when something seems forgotten or needs attention before the series ends.
Thread Categories
Open Threads
Active storylines introduced but not yet resolved. These are your "in progress" narrative elements that readers are waiting to see conclude.
Resolved Threads
Storylines that have reached a satisfying conclusion. These threads have been properly paid off and don't need further attention.
Abandoned Threads
Storylines that appear to have been dropped without resolution. These are potential problems that may disappoint readers if not addressed.
Ongoing Threads
Series-spanning arcs intentionally designed to continue across multiple books. These are your overarching narrative throughlines.
Alert System
The tool flags potential issues like:
- Critical threads that haven't been mentioned in multiple books
- Character arcs that seem incomplete
- Mysteries set up but never answered
- Threads approaching series end without clear resolution path
