Community Guidelines & Forum Rules
Welcome to the Writer's Club AI Community! Our goal is to create a welcoming space for writers to share their stories, ideas, and feedback. Please adhere to the following rules to maintain a positive and respectful environment for all.
Last Updated: January 19th, 2025
1. Respectful Communication
- Be respectful in all your interactions with other users, whether you're offering feedback, asking for help, or engaging in casual conversation.
- No harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language will be tolerated. We are committed to creating an inclusive and safe space for all writers, regardless of background or identity.
- Avoid personal attacks: Disagreements are natural, but personal insults or offensive behavior are not acceptable.
2. Constructive Feedback
- When providing feedback on stories or ideas, be constructive and kind. Offer suggestions or praise where possible, and remember to be encouraging.
- Critique the work, not the writer. Keep your comments focused on the story or idea rather than making judgments about the author.
- If you're requesting feedback, be open to both positive and negative comments. It's all part of the learning process.
3. No Plagiarism
- Only post original work that you have created yourself or have explicit permission to share.
- Respect intellectual property rights. Do not copy or share someone else's work without permission. If you use an external source, ensure proper credit is given.
- If you notice plagiarism or someone using your work without permission, report it immediately to the forum moderators.
4. Appropriate Content
- Content must be appropriate for a general audience. Explicit adult content, graphic violence, or hate speech is strictly prohibited.
- For mature or sensitive themes (e.g., violence, mental health), please include a trigger warning at the beginning of your post or story.
5. Stay On-Topic
- Each thread or post should focus on the subject it was created for. This will help maintain an organized forum and encourage more relevant and productive discussions.
- If you want to discuss something off-topic, please use the General Discussion or other appropriate sections of the forum.
6. Be Honest and Transparent
- When sharing feedback or commenting on a post, be honest but respectful. Misleading or false information may confuse others or diminish trust within the community.
- If you're giving advice, clearly state if it's your personal opinion or if it's based on established knowledge.
7. No Spam or Self-Promotion
- Do not spam the forum with repetitive posts or irrelevant content. Stay focused on the purpose of the community: sharing ideas, feedback, and stories.
- Self-promotion is allowed in moderation. You may share your work or projects in the appropriate threads, but do not flood the forum with constant links to your own websites, books, or social media.
8. Privacy and Safety
- Protect your privacy and the privacy of others. Do not share personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, or private contact details unless it's within a personal, secure conversation.
- Respect the privacy of others. If someone shares a personal experience or story, do not share it outside of the forum without permission.
9. Moderation & Reporting
- Respect the forum moderators and their decisions. They are here to ensure the rules are followed and to maintain a safe space for everyone.
- If you see any behavior or content that violates these guidelines, please report it to a moderator. We encourage the community to work together to maintain a positive atmosphere.
- Repeated rule-breaking may result in temporary or permanent suspension from the forum.
10. Be Kind to New Users
- Welcome new members and offer assistance when they need help navigating the forum.
- Be patient with newcomers who may not be familiar with the rules or norms of the community. Remember, we all start somewhere!
11. No Trolling or Flame Wars
- Trolling, flaming, or provoking other users is not allowed. This forum is for collaboration and creative growth, not for causing unnecessary conflict.
- If you encounter trolling or inflammatory comments, do not engage. Report it to a moderator instead.
12. Stay Positive and Encourage Creativity
- Our community is built on creativity and inspiration. Help foster a positive, supportive environment where writers feel encouraged to share their ideas and grow in their craft.
- Celebrate the diversity of ideas and genres. We welcome all types of writing—fiction, non-fiction, poetry, screenplays, and more!
Consequences for Rule Violations
We strive for a fair and transparent system in dealing with rule violations. Depending on the severity of the offense, consequences may include:
- A friendly reminder or warning
- Temporary suspension from the forum
- Permanent ban from the forum in extreme cases
By following these guidelines, you help contribute to a respectful and welcoming community for all writers. Thank you for being part of the Writer's Club AI Community!
