What It Does
Name Forge has two modes. Generate creates distinctive names for characters, places, organizations, ships, and invented terms - each with pronunciation, meaning, why it fits your genre and era, and variants/nicknames.
Audit scans your existing cast for reader-confusion risks: Jenna vs. Jenny problems, five names starting with J, same-rhythm names, and names that clash with your setting. Confusable names are one of the most common reasons readers put a book down - this catches them before your editor does.
How to Use It
Generate: Describe the Vibe
Set the name type, genre, cultural influence, era, and the feeling you want the name to carry. Get 10 options with reasoning.
Audit: Pick a Project
The audit reads your saved characters (plus names in early chapters) and maps collisions, letter distribution, and rhythm patterns.
Resolve the Collisions
Fix high-risk pairs first - then use Generate mode to forge replacements that keep the original name's intent.
Estimated Credit Usage
One of the cheapest tools - small inputs, small outputs.
