What It Does
The Info-Dump Detector finds every passage where exposition takes the wheel: backstory dumps, world-building lectures, technical explanations, "as you know, Bob" dialogue, and recaps of things the reader already saw.
For each dump it explains why the passage stalls momentum, rates its severity, and offers concrete techniques - drip-feeding, dramatizing through conflict, converting to argument - plus a short rewrite example so you can see the difference.
How to Use It
Select Your Project
Info-dumps cluster in openings - the default first-8-chapters scan is usually exactly where you want to look.
Triage by Severity
High-severity dumps stop the story cold. Start there; low-severity ones may just need a trim.
Apply the Techniques
Use the suggested techniques and rewrite examples to dramatize the information - or cut it and trust your reader.
Estimated Credit Usage
